CounterPath Launches Channel Partner Program to Expand Bria and Cloud-Based Mobility Solutions Distribution
Vancouver, BC, Canada — July 23, 2014
CounterPath Corporation (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV), a leading developer of award-winning desktop, tablet and mobile VoIP software products and solutions, today announced it is officially launching a Master Distribution Program to empower channel partners, Value Added Resellers (VARs) and other resellers to distribute CounterPath Bria desktop and mobile softphones, configuration solutions and cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) mobility solutions to their enterprise and commercial customers. Further, the company announced that it has entered into its first three Master Distribution Program agreements with Interwork Technologies, TeleDynamics and World Telecom Group (WTG). These announcements were made from the Cloud Partners Conference show in Chicago, Illinois where CounterPath is exhibiting and conducting live demonstrations of Bria SaaS from September 11 through September 13.
The CounterPath Master Distribution Program is designed to help channel partners meet increasing demand for desktop and mobile softphones within the enterprise. According to Gartner, 57% of all enterprise telephony extension licenses worldwide are IP-based and in North America alone 74% are IP-based. Desktop and mobile softphones have the largest CAGR of 16.9% for the period of 2013-2017 of all business telephones, and it is estimated that by 2017, desktop and mobile softphones will represent 25% of all business telephone shipments.
CounterPath has entered into Master Distribution Program agreements with the following partners which, together, represent more than 10,000 VARs and agents across
North America:

“In recent months CounterPath has increasingly been working to meet the needs of channel partners,” said Todd Carothers, EVP of Marketing and Products. “By formalizing our channel partner program and launching the Master Distribution Program, we are able to streamline our offerings, better support the efforts of our partners, and ultimately increase demand for our products and services.”
“The Apple iTunes and Google Play stores present unique challenges for mass distribution because they primarily focus on the consumer market,” continued Carothers. “By making enterprise-ready softphone clients readily downloadable via these stores and enabling remote configuration in the cloud, CounterPath has ‘cracked the code’ and made it easy for channel partners to help their customers roll out softphones to employees quickly and painlessly.”
CounterPath’s Master Distribution Program is available to qualified Master Agents and VARs worldwide. Initially launched in North America, the Master Distribution Program enables channel partners to leverage CounterPath’s interoperability program, hosted Client Configuration Server (CCS) platform and Bria product line to create a multi-tiered distribution system between CounterPath and the end user. The launch of CounterPath’s Master Distribution Program aligns with the launch of CounterPath’s managed cloud mobility SaaS solution. CounterPath’s cloud mobility SaaS solution enables VARs and Agent resellers to offer their customers a fully managed cloud-based mobility solution.
