Iwatsu Voice Networks Highlight Latest QuadFusion Applications
Vancouver, BC, Canada — September 05, 2014
Iwatsu Voice Networks (IVN), a provider of voice processing solutions, has announced the support of two new communication tools. Iwatsu’s Platinum Series IP Softphone and CounterPath™ Solutions’s eyeBeam™ Video SIP Softphone are the two latest developments in the world of PC-based communications. These new cost-effective clients connect users to network features — even videoconferencing capabilities — through simple interfaces on a PC or laptop.
The softphones are both able to interface with Iwatsu’s Enterprise 2.0 Communication Server through QuadFusion™ Technology. This allows the disparate softphone technologies to connect with the Enterprise 2.0 without the need for external servers. Each softphone is controlled through programmable PC desktop skins, however both offer separate benefits.
The Platinum Series IP Softphone was designed by Iwatsu Voice Networks and places all the functionality of fixed IP or TDM station onto a PC desktop. Employees can utilize automated attendant and automatic call distribution (ACD) along with Microsoft Outlook® contact integration and localized music on hold. Official release will be Q1 2006.
Iwatsu’s continued testing of third party applications has led to the support of CounterPath’s eyeBeam SIP Softphone. The eyeBeam uses voice over SIP for voice conferencing, but its true advantage lies in its full featured video conferencing ability. Developed by CounterPath Solutions, the eyeBeam SIP Softphone can be configured as a SIP station on the Enterprise 2.0 Communication Server, as a p2p client on the network, or both simultaneously. The eyeBeam SIP Softphone also has the ability perform instant messaging sessions.
“The new Platinum Series Softphone and eyeBeam SIP Softphone are the latest step in the evolution of business communications,” said Kevin Kelleher, Executive Vice President. “These softphones use QuadFusion™ Technology to deliver true multimedia applications to the Enterprise 2.0 Communication Server, regardless of your location. The net result is improved accessibility, a benefit to virtually any organization.”
