CounterPath SDK Bolsters Highly Secure Call Recording Solution for Banking, Finance and Insurance Industries
Vancouver, BC, Canada — May 20, 2015
CounterPath Corporation (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV), a developer of award-winning over-the-top (OTT) Unified Communications solutions for enterprises and operators, today announced its Bria softphone Software Development Kit (SDK) has been deployed by Denmark’s Global Voice Recording to enable the voice elements of its Bella voice calling and compliant recording solutions which adhere to the highest requirements for security compliance in the banking, finance and insurance industries of both European and North American markets.
Global Voice Recording’s Bella Voice software and hardware products enable enterprises to facilitate and document mobile voice conversations. The company specializes in securities transactions which require strict compliance to rigorous data protection requirements. The Bria softphone SDK was integrated into Bella Voice because Global Voice Recording wanted a proven and stable SIP stack/VoIP engine to enable VoIP calls with high call quality without spending an enormous amount of development time. Time to market was key in the decision to go with the CounterPath Bria soft client SDK.
“Our technology together with CounterPath’s has given us product that is currently unmatched in the call recording industry,” said Henrik Bang, CEO and Partner at Global Voice Recording. “In the world of securities transactions, data security is a top priority which factored in our choice of technology partner. Our systems also handles all known protocols in IP telephony (SIP, SCCP etc.) and interoperability is key. Given the flexibility of the Bria soft client SDK, it has been possible to deliver a product which is both GSM and SIP enabled, giving the end user capabilities and mobility never before seen in the Compliance Call Recording industry.”
“CounterPath’s Bria technology underpins the communications solutions of an increasingly wide segment of the enterprise market,” said Todd Carothers, EVP of Marketing and Products at CounterPath. “By enabling the voice and call recording components of Global Voice Recording’s offerings we are further demonstrating the solid reputation of our Bria SDK in an environment with stringent requirements, and expanding our commitment to promoting enterprise mobility within the financial sector.”
The CounterPath Bria SDK is built on open standards, enabling software engineers to leverage SIP to create, run and terminate IMS-compliant multi-media sessions including voice and video calling, SMS and instant messaging, and presence. Developers can also use the SDK to build their own graphical user interface and implement calling behaviors for features such as call answer, call transfer, conferencing and more.
