CounterPath Unveils New Features and Reporting Module With Its Industry-Leading Client Configuration Server

CounterPath Unveils New Features and Reporting Module With Its Industry-Leading Client Configuration Server

Vancouver, BC, Canada — July 25, 2014

CounterPath (NASDAQ: CPAH) (TSX: CCV) today announced the latest update to its innovative Client Configuration Server (CCS). This carrier-grade solution enables customers to remotely manage all of their Bria desktop, mobile and tablet softphones. Since its launch last year, CCS has been adopted in over 10 countries by leading enterprises and operators.

The leading market for the CCS is the Enterprise, fuelled by the Bring your own device (“BYOD”) to work trend. IDC currently pegs the Mobile Device Management software business at $444.6 million today and growing to $1.8 billion by 2016. CounterPath’s CCS gives enterprises and operators the ability to simplify the end user experience while also optimizing IT and operations staff efficiency. With an extremely intuitive user interface, the CCS enables service providers to automatically apply and deploy the proper configuration to each end-user device, periodically update those configurations and remotely upgrade client-side software. The CCS also provides maximum versatility with the ability to be deployed either as a CounterPath hosted cloud-based service or as a premise-based model with the customer responsible for managing all hardware and connectivity needs.

The updated version of CounterPath’s Client Configuration Server technology builds on the existing capabilities and adds over ten new features designed to maximize efficiency and support complicated deployments. New features include dynamic codec enablement, security enhancement, international roaming zones, multi-language support for geographic disperse deployments and many other features. The latest version of the CCS also brings a new module add-on to the CCS framework that enables a new level of reporting that gives the ability to enterprises and operators to create customized reports of devices under management of the CCS. This includes the number of clients by platform type (mobile, tablet, desktop), by client version (Bria 2.5 vs. Bria 3.4), by device OS version (e.g., iOS 4.2 vs. iOS 5.2), and by device type (Windows vs. Mac vs. Linux).

“The market is going through unprecedented technological and end user behavior changes driven by BYOD as well as demand for a consistent experience across all devices,” said Todd Carothers, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at CounterPath. “The CCS was architected from the ground up to enable new features and modules that focus on solving the issues with managing a few to millions of deployed softphones. CounterPath will continue to enrich the CCS offering that will include new modules that further support complex deployments.”
